I have always been interested in the benefits of different types of foods and try to add those to my diet. Rice is a type of food that just about everyone eats including me. Most choose white rice instead of brown rice for various reasons. However, what if I tell you brown rice is better than white rice? Studies have shown that consuming brown rice does not increase your blood sugar levels like most foods such as white rice. I know what it is like growing up with asthma. I was the kid who had to carry an inhaler everywhere I went because I would randomly get asthma attacks. - Copper counts for 21% of the daily intake you need. This is a mineral which helps the tissues and bones develop the right way. Copper also allows your body to produce the antioxidants it needs to use.
- Pantothenic Acid has 11% of the intake you need daily. This helps produce Coenzyme A, which is a molecule. This molecule is the center for all of your body functions.
- Phosphorous has 23% of the daily intake you will need. This helps all of your cells in your body communicate with other cells. The communication is important because it helps prevent diseases of organs and tissues. Phosphorous also uses manganese for healthy bones.
- Selenium counts for 35% of the intake you need which helps produce glutathione. Glutathione is probably the most important antioxidants for a human being, and our bodies produce it naturally. Selenium is there to make sure that our bodies do produce it.
- Zinc has 11% of the daily intake you need. Zinc is the same thing as copper, they both do similar functions within the body. Even though they are the same, you still need to maintain both levels in your body.
- Manganese counts for 88% of the recommended daily intake you need. This is a nutrient which helps with healthy, strong bones. Manganese also helps with your skin by keeping the integrity of it.
- Magnesium is different from manganese. Magnesium is 21% of the daily intake and helps with the bones in your body gain structure and strength. Magnesium also helps the body produce the energy it needs.
4. Brown Rice Can Help Combat Obesity
Many people who have obesity with change their diet to add brown rice to it. This is so they can control their weight and hopefully lose some weight instead of gaining weight. The reason why brown rice helps combat obesity is that of the manganese in it which synthesizes the body fat. Research has shown that brown rice does have benefits and can reduce body fat and body mass index. Brown rice also elevates HDL cholesterol levels in obese individuals.

Brown rice has many advantages to offer us. However, the most significant benefit would have to be cardiovascular benefits. Brown rice can also stop the arteries from narrowing which will help keep them open and not allow the plaque to build up and block the arteries. Another heart benefit is that brown rice has plant lignans which protect from certain cancers and heart disease.
