What Is The Power Pressure Cooker XL?

Before I go into my review, let’s learn more about where the cooker comes from.

A pressure cooker is one that can cook food very quickly under steam pressure. Through the quick cooking, it saves energy and allows consistent heating all the way, tenderizing meats, softening vegetables, and simply making your dishes more delectable and delicious.

The Power Pressure Cooker XL was created by Eric Theiss, who owns his fine dining restaurant and owns a line of kitchen tools and cookware. He then created the Power Pressure Cooker XL, which is an electric pressure cooker that produces many types of meals with just one push of a button. There are two types of pressure cookers, depending on the size you want. Both of these tools have the similar and adjustable settings to cook your food perfectly and without hassle.

But I don’t want to hurry and merely mention its key features here! I’ll be talking more about what it has to offer and how it works in the next section.

Power Pressure Cooker XL Reviews

Now that you’re familiar with what the Power Pressure Cooker does, here’s what I have to say about it:

1. Design – When I first received the Power Pressure XL, the first thing I noticed about it was its sleek design. I love the classic stainless steel look, which had the modern vibe to it that fits in any kitchen. It certainly looks great on my kitchen counter. And for something that cooks for a large group, it didn’t take up too much space. You can choose between a pot that fits eight or ten quarts.

2. Strength and Durability – With its stainless steel body and parts alone, you can see that it can pack a punch. It is constructed well and has been with me for a long time, performing as if it were the first time I’m using it. The cooker continues to do its job no matter how much pressure I put into it when cooking big batches for holidays or big dinners.

3. Versatility – There are various options to choose from when setting the cooker:

  • Canning/Preserving
  • Soup/Stew
  • Slow Cook
  • Rice/Risotto
  • Beans/Lentils
  • Fish/Veg/Steam
  • Meat/Chicken
  • Time Adjustment
  • Cancel/Keep Warm

You have a lot of choices, and they cook your food very well. I like the fact that you can make virtually anything, whether it’s rice or beef stew. It only uses one pot for all these cooking techniques!

4. Ease of Use – You have all these options, but it only takes a push of a button to have it cook the way you want it to. As long as you secure the lid and pressure valve right, then everything will go well, and the food will become delicious in no time. It’s effortless to use but has your food come out as if it took you hours to prepare. It saves so much time and effort this way.

5. Cleaning – Cleaning is a breeze because it does not mess up anything that surrounds the unit. You just need to clean the pot, valve, and lid. It’s dishwasher safe, though I would rather hand wash it with mild soap and water. Either way, it also saves time cleaning as compared to using a ton of pans or splattering oil around the stovetop and oven.

6. Overall – All in all, I would give this cooker five stars! Sure, it can be a bit heavy, but I’m not going to lift it around the house! It’s very healthy to use because it has the nonstick coating (fewer calories because of less oil used) and it only takes minutes to cook many types of dishes. I would recommend this cooker for any household or office, especially those who have to prepare dishes for large groups of people.

Benefits Of Using the Power Pressure Cooker XL

Why should YOU get the Power Pressure Cooker? Besides this review, you should take note of the following benefits it has, such as:

1. Saves Time – There’s no need to spend hours having to prepare and cook your food because the Power Pressure Cooker XL is very easy to use. Just place the prepped food to the pot, set it to the time required, and you’re good to go!

2. Saves Your Food’s Nutrients – When your food sits in boiling water for long periods of time, then more nutrients and flavors will become stripped from them. But because the Power Pressure Cooker XL has shorter cooking times, then there is less of a chance to lose its nutrients and flavors.

3. One-Pot Cooking – There are a ton of methods and cooking techniques to choose from when using the Power Pressure Cooker XL, so you won’t be wasting your money on using it. All you need is one pot to cook all your meals in, so it saves you money in the long run.

4. Easy to Cook – There are various buttons there to choose from when setting the time, and you only need to press a button to have it ready to cook. Put your ingredients in the pot, close the lid and pressure valve, and wait. It’s that easy to use!

5. Conserve Energy – You’ll only be using the unit and not the stove or any other appliance when cooking. And with its shorter cook time, you’ll be using less energy that will save you a few bucks in the long run.

6. No More Hot Kitchen – You won’t be working up a sweat as you cook because the cooker retains both heat and steam. It won’t let the heat escape compared to using the stove or oven, so there’s no worry about the kitchen becoming hotter.

7. Easy to Clean – If you keep your pot’s lid secure the whole time, then there’s no worry about having it splash, boil over, to having the steam escape. No need to clean its surroundings and you simply need to care for one pot.

8. Preserves Your Food – Not only is there a Keep Warm option to have your food stay flavorful and hot before eating, but there is also a canning option to preserve your food for a long time. You can use this for meats, soup, or even fish!

9. Save Money – Besides saving energy and other appliances, you can save up on ingredients as well. You can opt to buy cheaper cuts of meat, which the pressure cooker can make juicy and succulent. You can use inexpensive ingredients and still have quality flavors.

10. Quick Cooking – And finally, you have the fast cook times. It only takes a few minutes up to an hour or so to have all your dishes ready. And once it is, the dishes will come out looking as if it took hours to prepare and make! There are a ton of recipes to choose from, so your dinner table will have more color and taste that you and your big group of loved ones will enjoy.

Comparing the Power Pressure Cooker XL With Other Brands

But what does the Power Pressure Cooker XL have that the other brands don’t? Here are its key features comparing to other popular pressure cookers out there:

What makes the Power Pressure Cooker XL different from all other competition is the fact that it has all the features you need in one appliance. While other pressure cookers from big brand names like Cuisinart or Nesco have the LCDs, the Power Pressure Cooker XL has the canning features and slow cooking option, which most do not.

The canning feature is what intrigues me those most, as well as its sleek design that the Nesco and Harvest Pressure Cookers do not have. I also like the fact that it has a host of one-touch preset buttons and pre-programmed smart settings that anyone can understand. The Cuisinart does NOT have those settings and needs to be manually adjusted to achieve the flavor and taste.

And besides these features that other products do not have, the best factor I would like to point out would be its pricing. It’s very affordable for a one-pot-cooks-all type of kitchen appliance. And with its huge capacity for large groups of people, I can say it’s the perfect addition to any kitchen. With all these added features and meeting all the expectations both beginner and advanced chefs need, I can say that this is the real winner compared to all other brands out there.

How to Use the Power Pressure Cooker XL

If you own one or are interested in using a Power Pressure Cooker XL, here are some tips to follow when using and caring for it:

  • You should start off with the type of cooking technique you would like to use. Like what I mentioned, the Power Pressure Cooker XL has tons of pressure buttons to choose from. Choose the setting according to the ingredients you will put in. As for the time, follow the directions stated in the recipe.
  • When using the Power Pressure Cooker XL for the first time, it will show a 0000 on the LED display. Once you have chosen your cooking process, the default time is displayed then the building pressure is shown five seconds later. Once the pressure has been built, the display will count down the time before the cooking prices are finished. It will then turn to the Keep Warm mode until it’s ready to be stopped and pulled out. That’s all there is to it!
  • If you would like to sauté or brown your food, then press the Brown option while the lid is out before you begin to pressurize it.
  • If you plan to cook frozen foods, then you can do so provided that you add ten more minutes of cook time than what was asked for in the recipe.
  • Will you consume your meal later? You can opt to use either the delay time to cook in the future or the unit will have the Keep Warm function to maintain the food’s temperature.
  • Do NOT force the lie open while i is still pressurized. Wait for it to release all the pressure. When removing the lid, wear gloves to protect your skin from the hot steam or the steel part of the lid.
  • When cleaning the pressure cooker, always unplug the unit and allow it to cool before doing so. It should be cleaned thoroughly after every use. NEVER pour cold water into a hot unit and use only mild detergent, soft sponge, and hot water. Dry it off with a soft cloth.

For those who are new to using a pressure cooker or want to explore more on what they can make with it, here is a favorite and simple Chicken Teriyaki Recipe of mine to try out:

  • Ingredients
  • Six boneless chicken thighs
  • Half a cup of cornstarch
  • Half of a diced red pepper
  • Half of a diced green pepper
  • Six ounces of diced pineapples
  • Two garlic cloves, minced
  • One-inch of ginger, minced
  • Six ounces of Teriyaki sauce
  • One cup of chicken stock
  • A pinch of white pepper
  • Steps
  1. Dredge the chicken thighs in cornstarch.
  2. Place the pot in the cooker then press the Soup/Stew button to cook for ten minutes.
  3. Add all of the ingredients into the pot and cover it with the lid to lock. Close the pressure release valve as well.
  4. Allow it to cook. Once the timer is up, it will then Keep Warm. Press the cancel button if you plan to serve it immediately.
  5. Open the pressure valve and wait for the steam to release. Remove the lid and serve over rice. Enjoy!

Wrapping It Up

When it comes to healthy cooking and ensuring that you get your favorite snacks or dishes without the excess fat, then you can take advantage of a pressure cooker! And with the owed Pressure Cooker XL, you won’t need to worry about the calories or cleanup anymore, because it saves you the hassle and cooking time.

The Power Pressure Cooker XL lived up to my expectations. It helped me save money on oil, as well as time and effort cooking my favorite foods.
